Fresh Produce Marketing on Overdrive

The Global Produce and Floral Show Wrap 2023

Fresh Produce Marketing on Overdrive

A week ago I had the privilege of attending the Global Produce and Floral Show in sunny Anaheim, California. The event drew tens of thousands of industry professionals and exhibitors, making it a vibrant hub for the fresh produce industry. Many of my clients are in fresh produce, so this was an opportunity to connect, check out the latest innovations and gain perspectives on the industry.

Innovations on Display

Walking the expansive showroom floor is both exciting and overwhelming. While this was not my first time attending the event, this year would surely have impressed anyone, with countless exhibitors showcasing new products, product sampling and elaborate booths and displays.

Sustainability Takes Center Stage

In response to the growing eco-consciousness of consumers, numerous exhibitors presented sustainable packaging, eco-friendly growing practices, and innovative supply chain solutions. Marketers are taking note of shifts in consumer values towards sustainability.

Design Trends

As a designer, one of the big highlights is getting a snapshot on creative trends in the marketplace. There are massive and amazing booths with graphics ranging from traditional to over-the-top.

Sunset always does a great job with their graphics and they did not disappoint this year. For design creativity my favorite work was from Dragonberry Produce. Their unique, illustrative design was striking and beautiful, a real departure from the other displays.

A Meeting of Minds

One of the highlights of the event was reconnecting with our valued clients and friends in the industry. Having worked with clients in the industry for years, mostly over email, the opportunity to connect in person was so great. Hearing what is happening with our clients’ businesses provides us invaluable insights into their evolving needs. This sort of input helps my team do a better job for our clients.

Attending the Global Produce and Floral Show served as a reminder that the world of fresh produce marketing is dynamic and ever-evolving. My only regret was not allowing more time. The event is so large that it is impossible to see in one day. I did not have nearly enough time to visit everyone that I wanted to see. Next time I will plan to attend longer and really spend the time getting the most from the event. Thanks for the good time!

It’s A Wrap!
